Blof Biography

Blof was officially founded in 1992, by Peter Slage, in the province of Zeeland, The Netherlands. The band originally consisted by that time of Paskal Jakobsen, Peter Slager, Bas Kennis and Henk Tjoonk. In the fall of 1994 Blof recorded their first album, “Naakt Onder De Hemel”. The song 'Aan de kust' (At the coast) from this debut album “Naakt onder de Hemel” is considered to be the new anthem of the province Zeeland. Blof got an award for 'Best New Talent' for this album. Besides having deeply sensitive lyrics, Blof incorporates sounds from around the world. Besides success, Blof has also had its fair share of tragedy. Drummer Chris Götte, who replaced Henk Tjoonk in 1997, died in a motor crash on March 17th, 2001.
